He loved three things: warm sunshine, soft cushions, and \u2014 most of all \u2014 fish.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">Every morning, Oliver would sit beside the kitchen window and watch as Grandma Rose placed a little golden bowl on the table. Inside the bowl swam a tiny, shimmering fish with scales that sparkled like tiny stars.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">&#8220;Good morning, little fish,&#8221; Oliver would purr, pressing his nose against the glass.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">The little fish, whose name was Pip, would swim to the edge of the bowl and blow a tiny bubble.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">Bloop!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">That was Pip&#8217;s way of saying good morning.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">The Forbidden Friendship<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">Now, Grandma Rose had one very important rule:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">&#8220;Oliver, you may look at the fish, but you may NOT touch the fish.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">Oliver always nodded his head very seriously. But inside, his tummy would rumble.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">Fish are my favorite food, he thought.Why can&#8217;t I have just one little nibble?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">One rainy afternoon, while Grandma Rose was napping in her rocking chair, Oliver crept closer and closer to the golden bowl. He stretched out one fluffy paw\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">Pip saw the paw coming. Instead of swimming away, Pip did something very brave. He swam right up to the edge of the bowl and blew the biggest bubble he had ever blown.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">BLOOOOP!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">The bubble floated up and landed right on Oliver&#8217;s nose. It popped with a tinytick sound, like a kiss.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">Oliver froze. He blinked. He had never been kissed by a fish before.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">&#8220;Did you just\u2026 kiss me?&#8221; Oliver whispered.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">Pip blew another bubble.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">Bloop!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">Oliver sat down very carefully and stared at the little fish. Something strange was happening inside his heart. It felt warm and soft, like sunshine on a winter day.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">&#8220;I don&#8217;t want to eat you,&#8221; Oliver said softly. &#8220;I think I want to be your friend.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">Pip swam in a happy little circle.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">Secret Adventures<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">From that day on, Oliver and Pip became the most unusual friends in the whole village.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">Every morning, Oliver would sit beside the golden bowl and tell Pip stories.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">&#8220;Today I chased a butterfly,&#8221; Oliver said proudly. &#8220;It was blue and it flew all the way to the top of the cherry tree. I almost caught it!&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">Pip would blow bubbles in excitement.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">Bloop bloop bloop!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">And Pip would tell Oliver stories too \u2014 well, in his own way. When Pip swam fast in circles, it meant he was telling Oliver about the big wide ocean. When Pip hid behind the little castle decoration, it meant he was telling a scary story about a sea monster.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">Oliver would gasp and cover his eyes with his paws.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">&#8220;Oh no! Was the sea monster very big?&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">Pip would blow a tiny bubble.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">Bloop.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">That meant: &#8220;A little bit.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">The Stormy Night<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">One evening, a terrible storm rolled over the village. The wind howled through the trees, and rain hammered against the windows. Thunder rumbled so loudly that the whole cottage shook.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">Grandma Rose hurried to check on everything. She noticed the golden bowl had tipped over! Water spilled across the table, and poor Pip was flopping on the wooden surface, gasping for air.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">&#8220;Pip!&#8221; Oliver cried.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">Without thinking, Oliver leaped onto the table.
