Help!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">It was Daisy the deer, standing near the edge of the pond. Her little fawn, Pip, had rolled into a narrow hollow beneath an old oak tree. The opening was too small for the grown animals to reach him.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">The badger tried to dig, but the roots were too thick.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">Oliver the owl flew down and peered inside. \u201cThe space is very narrow,\u201d he said. \u201cOnly someone small and quick could go in.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">Everyone looked at each other.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">Then Felix stepped forward.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">\u201cI can try,\u201d he said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">Bella the bunny frowned. \u201cBut it\u2019s dark in there, Felix.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">Felix nodded. \u201cI know. But Pip needs help.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">Without his tail, Felix was lighter and smaller than the other foxes. He slipped easily into the hollow, where the air smelled of damp leaves and old wood.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">\u201cPip?\u201d he called softly.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">\u201cFelix?\u201d came a tiny voice. \u201cI\u2019m scared.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">\u201cDon\u2019t be,\u201d Felix said. \u201cI\u2019m here.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">He found Pip curled up near a tangle of roots. The little fawn\u2019s leg was stuck, but not hurt badly. Felix gently nudged the roots aside with his paws and whispered, \u201cFollow my voice. I\u2019ll go first.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">Step by step, Felix led Pip through the narrow passage. It was dark, but Felix did not rush. He stayed calm, kind, and patient.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">Soon, a soft light appeared ahead.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">When Felix and Pip came out, the whole forest cheered.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">Daisy hugged her fawn. Bella clapped her paws. Oliver hooted happily from a low branch.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">\u201cYou were so brave!\u201d said Bella.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">Felix blinked. \u201cI was just helping.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">Oliver smiled. \u201cBravery is not about having a tail, Felix. It is about having a kind heart.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">That evening, the animals gathered around the fireflies near the meadow. For the first time, he did not feel different in a sad way.
