His fur was the color of warm autumn leaves, and his tail was so fluffy that it looked like a little cloud had decided to follow him everywhere.

One morning, while Felix was searching for blackberries near the old oak tree, he saw something shining in the grass.

It was a small golden ring.

Felix picked it up carefully with his paw. The ring was warm from the sunlight, and it sparkled like a tiny piece of the sun.

“Oh!” said Felix. “This must belong to someone.”

He looked around the forest. A squirrel named Pip was hanging upside down from a branch.

“Pip,” asked Felix, “did you lose a golden ring?”

Pip blinked his big eyes. “No, no. I only collect acorns. But it is very pretty!”

Felix walked farther into the forest. He met a hedgehog named Hazel, who was carrying a red apple.

“Hazel,” asked Felix, “is this your ring?”

Hazel shook her head. “No, my dear. But perhaps the bluebird knows.”

So Felix went to see Luna, the bluebird who lived in the tallest pine tree.

Luna flew down and looked at the ring. “It is beautiful,” she said. “But it is not mine. My treasures are shiny pebbles and feathers.”

Felix sighed. He sat down on a soft patch of moss and looked at the little ring.

“I hope I can find its owner before the stars come out,” he whispered.

Just then, he heard a tiny sound.

“Excuse me… excuse me…”

Felix turned around. There, behind a mushroom, stood a little rabbit named Rosie. Her ears were drooping, and her eyes were full of tears.

“What is wrong, Rosie?” asked Felix.

“I lost my ring,” she said softly. “It was a gift from my grandmother. It is small and golden, and it has a tiny star on it.”

Felix looked at the ring in his paw. There, on the side, was a little star, shining gently.

“Is this it?” he asked.

Rosie’s eyes grew wide. “Yes! Yes, that is it!”

Felix smiled and placed the ring carefully into Rosie’s paw.

Rosie hugged it tightly. “Thank you, Felix. You are the kindest fox in the whole forest.”

Felix’s cheeks turned a little pink. “I only found it,” he said. “But I am glad it is home.”

That evening, all the forest friends gathered under the big oak tree. Pip brought acorns, Hazel brought apples, Luna sang a soft song, and Rosie wore her little golden ring proudly.

Felix curled up beside his fluffy tail and watched the moon rise above the trees.

He did not have a golden ring, but his heart felt warm and full, like a lantern glowing in the dark.

And as the stars twinkled above the quiet forest, Felix closed his eyes and fell asleep, dreaming of new adventures tomorrow.

Good night, little fox.
Good night, kind heart.
Good night, forest friends.

[15
21,18
post-960","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-children","tag-children","tag-story
["GET
