Once upon a time, in the heart of the Whispering Woods, there lived a little monkey named Milo. Milo was not like the other monkeys. While his friends loved to swing from vines and chase butterflies, Milo spent his time listening to the wind.
You see, Milo had a special gift. He had a tiny, glowing feeling in his tummy whenever something important was going to happen. He called it his “Tomorrow Tingle.”
One sunny afternoon, while the other animals were napping, Milo felt a suddenzing! in his tummy. It felt like fizzy lemonade bubbles. He looked up at the sky. It was bright blue and clear, not a single cloud in sight.
“Oh no,” Milo whispered, scratching his curly tail. “The tingle says a big storm is coming. A very big one.”
Milo rushed to find his best friend, Barnaby the Bear. Barnaby was busy trying to catch a bee in a honey pot.
“Barnaby! Barnaby!” Milo chattered. “We have to hide the honey! A storm is coming!”
Barnaby looked at the sunny sky and laughed. “Silly Milo. The sun is shining! There is no storm. Go play with your bananas.”
Milo felt a little sad, but his tummy was still tingling. He ran to find Oliver the Owl, who was reading a book on a high branch.
“Oliver! Please, we need to gather everyone under the Big Oak Tree. The storm is coming!”
Oliver adjusted his spectacles and looked down. “My dear Milo, the birds are singing, and the squirrels are playing. Your imagination is quite active today.”
Milo sighed. No one believed him. But he knew he couldn’t just sit there. If the storm came, everyone’s cozy homes might get wet and cold.
So, little Milo got to work all by himself. He dragged big green leaves over the entrance of the rabbit holes. He helped the ants move their crumbs to higher ground. He even pulled a giant mushroom over the sleeping hedgehogs like an umbrella. He worked until his little arms were tired and his fur was messy.
Just as he finished, the wind stopped blowing. The birds stopped singing. The bright blue sky suddenly turned a dark, grumpy purple.
CRACK! went the thunder.WHOOSH! went the wind.
Rain began to fall, not in drops, but in buckets!
Barnaby the Bear woke up with a start. “Oh my! My honey!” But before he could worry, he saw that Milo had already covered his honey pot with a waterproof leaf.
Oliver the Owl flapped his wings, surprised. “My goodness! How did you know, Milo?”
All the animals huddled together under the giant mushroom and the Big Oak Tree, safe and dry. They watched the rain wash over the forest, but inside, they were warm.
Milo smiled, his tummy finally calm. “I just listened,” he said softly.
That night, as the storm faded into a gentle drizzle, the animals shared a big feast of dried berries and nuts. They thanked Milo for his special gift.
“You may be small, Milo,” said Barnaby, sharing a piece of honeycomb, “but you have the biggest heart in the forest.”
Milo yawned, feeling sleepy and happy. He curled up in his cozy nest, listening to the rhythmicdrip-drop of the rain. He closed his eyes, ready to dream, knowing that his friends were safe because he cared.
And so, the little monkey with the magic tingle slept soundly, dreaming of sunny days and sweet bananas.
Goodnight, Milo. Goodnight, you.
