Once upon a time, there was a little gray wolf named Gray.

Gray was a very cute wolf with soft, fluffy gray fur and big, bright eyes that sparkled like stars. He used to live in a big, dark forest far, far away. But one day, Gray decided it was time to find a new home.

“I want a home that is warm, cozy, and full of friends!” Gray said to himself, wagging his bushy tail.

So, Gray packed his little red backpack with his favorite things: a shiny blue marble, a warm yellow scarf, and a delicious apple pie his mom made for him. Then, he set off on his adventure.

First, Gray met a friendly Rabbit named Rosie. Rosie was hopping around in a sunny meadow.

“Hello, Gray!” said Rosie. “Are you looking for a new home? My burrow is underground. It’s very safe, but it might be a little too small for a wolf!”

Gray laughed. “Thank you, Rosie! But I think I need a house with a door, not a hole in the ground.”

Next, Gray met a cheerful Squirrel named Sammy. Sammy was busy collecting acorns in a tall oak tree.

“Hi, Gray!” chattered Sammy. “Do you want to live in a tree? The view is amazing, and you can jump from branch to branch!”

Gray looked up. The tree was very high. “Oh my,” said Gray. “I’m not very good at climbing. I might fall down! Thank you, Sammy, but I need a home on the ground.”

Gray walked a little further until he came to a lovely little cottage at the edge of the woods. It had a red roof, white walls, and a chimney that puffed out little rings of smoke.

Sitting on the porch was a kind Bear named Barnaby. Barnaby was drinking a cup of hot cocoa.

“Hello there, little wolf,” said Barnaby in a deep, gentle voice. “You look tired. Would you like some cocoa?”

Gray’s tummy rumbled. “Yes, please!”

Barnaby invited Gray inside. The cottage was filled with the smell of cinnamon and pine. There was a big, soft rug in front of the fireplace and a comfy armchair.

“This is my home,” said Barnaby. “But it’s a bit big for just one bear. I’ve been looking for a roommate to share it with. Would you like to stay?”

Gray’s eyes went wide. “Really? Can I stay?”

“Of course!” said Barnaby. “We can share the cocoa, read stories by the fire, and keep each other warm in the winter.”

Gray was so happy. He unpacked his red backpack, put his blue marble on the shelf, and wrapped his yellow scarf around his neck.

That night, Gray slept in a cozy bed next to the warm fireplace. He dreamed of all the fun adventures he would have with his new friend, Barnaby.

Gray the little gray wolf had finally found his new home, and it was perfect.

Goodnight, Gray. Goodnight, Barnaby. Goodnight, you.
