Deep in the heart of Blueberry Forest lived a little bunny named Barnaby. Barnaby had fur as soft as marshmallows and long ears that could hear the dewdrops falling.

It was a quiet night, and all the animals in the forest were asleep. The squirrel was curled up in his tree hollow, and the hedgehog had rolled into a fuzzy little ball. But Barnaby wasn’t sleepy at all. He was doing somersaults on the grass, chasing his own tail, and poking at the glowing mushrooms by the path.

“Oh dear,” Barnaby sighed, plopping down on the grass. “Everyone is asleep. It’s so boring.”

He looked up and saw the moon hanging in the sky—round, bright, and glowing with a gentle silver light, just like a giant nightlight.

“Grandma Moon!” Barnaby called out loudly. “Are you awake?”

Grandma Moon seemed to hear him. She leaned down a little, casting a brighter beam of light right onto Barnaby’s nose. A voice as gentle as a breeze whispered in his ear, “I am watching over everyone, Barnaby. Why aren’t you asleep yet?”

“I can’t sleep,” Barnaby said, twitching his long ears sadly. “My ears are too wide awake! They keep listening to the wind singing.”

Grandma Moon smiled, her light turning as soft as silk. “Since you can’t sleep, let’s play a game. Close your eyes, Barnaby. I have a special gift for you.”

Barnaby obediently closed his eyes.

Suddenly, he felt his body becoming light as a feather. He opened his eyes and gasped—he was flying! He hopped up a ladder of moonlight, step by step, until he reached the night sky.

“Wow!” Barnaby exclaimed.

Grandma Moon took out a giant silver spoon and gently stirred the clouds around her. The clouds instantly turned into all sorts of shapes: some looked like carrot ice cream, some like fluffy trampolines, and others looked just like Barnaby’s favorite blueberry pie.

“These are Cloud Marshmallows,” Grandma Moon whispered softly. “Have a taste.”

Barnaby carefully took a bite of the cloud next to him. Wow! It was cool, sweet, and melted in his mouth, tasting just like the icy berry juice he loved in summer! He happily rolled around on the clouds. With every roll, he got covered in sparkling stardust, making him look like a glowing little star.

Grandma Moon began to hum a tune. It had no words, but it flowed like a gentle stream, soothing Barnaby’s heart.
“Hush now, sleep tight, my dear,The stars are blinking, the wind is near.Grandma Moon watches over your dreams,Until the sun wakes with golden beams…”

Listening to the gentle song, Barnaby’s eyelids grew heavy. He bounced slower and slower on the cloud trampoline until he found the thickest, softest cloud and snuggled into it. It felt warmer and cozier than the fluffiest down comforter.

“Goodnight, Grandma Moon…” Barnaby mumbled, his voice getting quieter and quieter.

“Goodnight, Barnaby,” Grandma Moon replied tenderly.

She waved her hand gently, and the cloud carrying Barnaby floated down, slowly and softly, back to Blueberry Forest. It landed quietly right on Barnaby’s little bed.

Barnaby curled up into a ball, a sweet smile on his face, and soon began to breathe evenly. That night, he dreamed a beautiful dream filled with blueberry-flavored clouds and silver stardust.
