Once upon a time, in a cozy little village called Maplewood, there lived a sweet little girl named Lily. She had golden curly hair, rosy cheeks, and the brightest smile that could light up any room.
Lily had a very special friend — a little apple tree named Buddy that stood right in her backyard.
“Goodnight, Buddy,” Lily would whisper every evening before bed. “Sweet dreams.”
And every night, the little apple tree would rustle its leaves gently, as if saying, “Goodnight, Lily.”

🌸 Spring
One morning, Lily woke up to the sound of birds singing. She ran to the window and gasped with joy.
“Buddy! Buddy! You have tiny green leaves!” she squealed.
The little apple tree stretched its branches proudly. “Spring is here, Lily! I’m waking up from my long winter nap!”
Lily put on her yellow rain boots and ran outside. She danced around Buddy, and together they watched the butterflies flutter by. Little pink flowers began to bloom on Buddy’s branches.
“These are my spring dresses,” Buddy said happily.
Lily giggled. “You look beautiful!”

☀️ Summer
Summer came with warm sunshine and long, lazy days. Buddy’s branches were now full of green leaves, and tiny green apples started to grow.
“Oh no!” Lily cried one afternoon. “The sun is so hot! Are you okay, Buddy?”
Buddy laughed softly. “Don’t worry, Lily. The sunshine helps my apples grow big and sweet. But… could you bring me some water? I’m a little thirsty.”
Lily ran to get her little red watering can. She filled it with cool water and carefully poured it around Buddy’s roots.
“Drink up!” she said.
“Thank you, Lily,” Buddy sighed happily. “You’re the best friend a tree could ask for.”
That evening, they watched the fireflies dance in the twilight sky.

🍂 Autumn
Autumn arrived with cool breezes and golden colors. Buddy’s leaves turned red, orange, and yellow — like a beautiful painting.
“Lily! Lily! Look at my apples!” Buddy called one morning.
Lily ran outside and clapped her hands. “They’re so big and red!”
“Pick them!” said Buddy. “They’re ready!”
Lily carefully picked the apples and put them in a big basket. She shared them with her mommy, her daddy, and her little brother. She even made a delicious apple pie with her grandmother.
“Thank you, Buddy,” Lily said, giving the tree a gentle hug. “You give the best presents.”
Buddy’s branches swayed warmly. “Sharing makes me happy, Lily.”

❄️ Winter
Winter came, and snowflakes began to fall. Buddy’s leaves had all fallen to the ground, and his branches were bare.
“Buddy, you look so… empty,” Lily said sadly, wrapping her scarf around her neck. “Are you sad?”
“Oh no, Lily,” Buddy said gently. “I’m just resting. Winter is my time to sleep and dream. When spring comes again, I’ll wake up with new leaves and new flowers.”
Lily nodded. She built a little snowman next to Buddy and placed a warm knitted hat on the snowman’s head.
“I’ll visit you every day,” she promised. “Even in the snow.”
And she did. Every afternoon, Lily would come outside, even just for a minute, to say hello to her friend.
“Goodnight, Buddy,” she whispered one snowy evening.
“Goodnight, Lily,” the tree whispered back. “Spring will come again. It always does.”

🌙 And So…
Lily learned that everything has its own season. Spring brings new beginnings. Summer brings warmth and growth. Autumn brings sharing and joy. Winter brings rest and dreams.
And through every season — through sunshine and rain, through snow and flowers — Lily and Buddy remained the best of friends.
As Lily snuggled into her bed that night, she smiled and thought about Buddy outside, sleeping peacefully in the snow.
“Goodnight, Buddy,” she murmured, her eyes growing heavy.
And somewhere outside, the little apple tree rustled its bare branches in the wind, as if to say:
“Goodnight, Lily. See you in spring.”
