Once upon a time, in a quiet little garden behind a cozy blue house, there lived a tiny dewdrop named Lily.

She was born at dawn, when the world was still wrapped in silver mist. She sat on the very tip of a green leaf, round and sparkling, like a little pearl that had fallen from the moon.

“Oh,” whispered Lily, blinking at the sunrise. “Where am I?”

“You’re on my tip,” said a gentle voice beneath her. “I’m Felix, your green leaf.”

Lily looked down. The leaf was soft and smooth, with tiny lines running through him like little rivers on a map.

“You’re very green,” said Lily.

Felix laughed. “And you’re very shiny!”

They both giggled, and the whole leaf trembled with laughter.

A Day Full of Surprises

The morning sun warmed the garden, and soon Lily felt herself getting lighter.

“Oh no,” she said. “I think I’m floating away!”

“Don’t worry,” said Felix. “Just hold on to me.”

But Lily was too curious. She slid down the leaf like a child on a slide —wheee! — and landed softly on a small ladybug named Ruby.

“Hello!” said Ruby. “Would you like a ride?”

“Yes, please!” said Lily.

Ruby carried her across the leaf, past a sleeping snail, over a tiny mushroom, and under a dandelion that looked like a fluffy white cloud.

“This garden is enormous!” said Lily.

“It is when you’re this small,” said Ruby with a smile.

The Little Dewdrop Learns Something Important

By afternoon, the sun was high and warm. Lily began to feel very, very light again.

“I think I’m turning into air,” she whispered.

Felix looked up at her. “That’s okay,” he said gently. “Everything changes. The sun warms me, the rain feeds me, and the wind helps me dance. And you — you will rise into the sky and become part of a cloud.”

Lily felt a little sad. “But I don’t want to leave you.”

Felix smiled. “You won’t really leave. Someday, when the night is cool and the stars are bright, you’ll come back as a dewdrop again. And I’ll be right here, waiting.”

A Sweet Goodnight

That evening, as the sky turned pink and purple, Lily rose softly into the air, lighter than a whisper.

“Goodbye, Felix!” she called.

“Goodnight, Lily!” he answered. “Dream of clouds.”

High above the garden, Lily floated among the stars. She felt peaceful, safe, and warm — like a little blanket of light wrapping around her.

And somewhere below, Felix rested quietly, dreaming of tomorrow morning, when a new dewdrop might appear on his tip, sparkling like a tiny pearl from the moon.

The End

Sweet dreams, little one. The world is full of tiny wonders — if you look closely enough.
